The Assessors would like to remind property owners that land is recorded to the best of the town's knowledge and it is ultimately the property owners responsibility to see that their property is recorded correctly. It is also your responsiblitly to know what you are paying on your tax bill and that all information on the bill is correct.
No real estate agent should sell property using the assessed acreage. Deeds and plot plans are proof of land acreage. All property owners have the responsibility of informing the assessors of any differences as to total acreage, more or less.
