Paving Operations are Anticipated to Begin on June 10, 2020 on East Road and Gatehouse Road

On Wednesday, June 10, 2020, the Town’s contractor is anticipated to begin paving operations for the East Road and Gatehouse Road Repaving Project. Construction activities will take place between the hours of 7:00AM and 4:00PM and the duration of work is expected to last approximately three days. A one-lane alternating traffic management plan will be utilized to facilitate traffic movements throughout the work zone, with temporary road closures in place at the intersection of Gatehouse Road and Worcester Road. The Westminster Department of Public Works urges the public to avoid on-street parking in the work zone during the scheduled hours of operation. 

To reduce traffic impacts as much as possible, it is encouraged that the public seek alternate routes and expect posted detours to facilitate efficient work. The paving process is dependent on good weather, and no equipment breakdowns. However, this type of work can be susceptible to the weather, unexpected equipment failures, and unforeseen site conditions.
