Motor Vehicle Excise Tax Payments

The 2022 Motor Vehicle Excise Tax bills have been mailed and will be due by March 10, 2022.  If you had a vehicle registered on January 1^st of this year, you should receive a bill.  If you do not receive a bill, please contact the Treasurer/Collector’s office.

You can pay your bill at the Westminster Town Hall - Treasuer/Collector’s office Mon – Thurs 8:00-4:30 and Fri 8:00-1:00.  You can also pay your bill online on the Town website www.westminster-ma.gov (Online Payments tab brings you to Unipay website) until midnight of the due date. For after-hour convenience, we also have a locked drop box in the front of the Town Hall. Do not leave cash!

Note:  If you purchased a vehicle at the end of the previous year, you may get two bills for the same vehicle (one for 2021, and one for 2022). Check the upper right hand corner for the year it pertains to.

If you no longer own a vehicle for which you are billed, you must file and abatement application with the Assessor’s office (978-874-7401).  There is information of the back of your bill.

Please note:  Timely payments within thirty days of the date of issue will avoid all interest and other charges and fees.
