The Town updated the Open Space & Recreation Plan. LINK HERE The plan is updated every seven years and needs State approval for the Town to be eligible for open space & recreation grants.The MA Division of Conservation Services approved the Plan, making the Town eligilble for open space & recreation grants for the next seven years.  

 The Open Space Committee has begun working on the actions items found in the Plan.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Open Space Committee is an advisory group that is responsible for implementing the Town's Open Space & Recreation Plan. The Committee also researches appropriate opportunities for protecting land from development in the Town of Westminster. Members are appointed by Selectmen for three-year terms.

The Committee works with area land protection organizations such as the North County Land Trust to secure grant monies for the purchase of conservation lands as well as conservation restrictions (CRs) and agricultural protection restrictions (APRs) on privately-owned properties.
