UPDATED -- 2023 ANNUAL TOWN ELECTION, ELECTION WARRANT & SAMPLE BALLOT

The Annual Town Election takes place on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Westminster Senior/Community Center.

Once again, we will have Vote by Mail for our Annual Town Election.  Click here for a Vote by Mail Application form.  Please return to our office, and we will then mail you a ballot.  Last day to request a Vote by Mail Ballot is Tuesday, April 18th, 2023.

There are two non-binding questions on the ballot:
Question One:
Should the Town of Westminster retain ownership of the old Town Hall property at 3 Bacon Street for repurposing, up to and including demolition; utilizing available State, Federal or other grant funds?
A YES vote on this question would lead the Town to retain ownership and control over the parcel and building.  Future options could include demolishing the building to build a playground or outdoor park, add parking for the library, and/or provide public green space for gathering in the town center. This measure would be funded, to the greatest extent possible, by federal, state or other grant funds and not the tax levy.
Question Two:
Should the Town of Westminster sell the old Town Hall property at 3 Bacon Street for repurposing with a historic preservation restriction?
A YES vote to this question would lead the Town to a second phase; the distribution of a survey at the November Special Town Meeting.  This would give the residents an opportunity to have input on the Request for Proposals (RFP) to help direct the sale of the building.

Our Annual Town Meeting will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Westminster Elementary School beginning at 1:00 p.m.

Last day for New Voter registration for the Annual Town Meeting is Wednesday, April 26, 2023, up until 5:00 p.m. in the Town Clerk's Office,  and then online at www.sec.state.ma.us/OVR until 11:59 p.m.
