Water/Sewer Rate Increase Notice
Effective July 1, 2017 water and sewer rates will increase.
The new water rate for 2017 will be $9.47 per 1,000 gallons, with a minimum charge of $28.41 for 3,000 gallons billed quarterly. For the average single family house that uses 15,000 gallons per quarter, the water bill will increase from $138.00 to $142.00 per quarter. Your cost could be less or more than this, depending on how much water you use.
The new sewer rate for 2017 will be $17.17 per 1,000 gallons, with a minimum charge of $51.51 for 3,000 gallons billed quarterly. For the average single family house that uses 15,000 gallons per quarter, the sewer bill will increase from $250.00 to $258.00 per quarter. Your cost could be less or more than this, depending on how much water you use.
REASONS FOR THE RATE INCREASE:
- Operating expenses have increased;
- Funding reserves for emergency repairs and operations have been depleted and need to be increased;
- Existing rates will not adequately fund capital improvement project costs for infrastructure upgrades, maintenance, repairs, and replacement.
