We have entered a Level 1-Mild Drought

Please take measures to conserve water - every drop counts.
Level 1-Mild Drought

We have entered a Level 1-Mild Drought following lower than normal rainfall for the past three months. Although this is a mild drought, it is significantly important that outdoor watering is limited as we enter the spring/summer growing season to reduce the strain on our water resources. When a drought occurs, the existing pressures on the ecosystem’s natural water supplies are amplified and can cause a loss of delicate wildlife habitats, have an impact on plant growth, increase in fire danger, etc. Here are some tips on water conservation:

  • Use a water efficient flushing toilet
  • Find and repair leaks
  • Take a quick shower
  • Convert to water saving faucets – avoid wasting water
  • Use an energy efficient washing machine
  • Water plants during the coolest part of the day
