To protect against Mosquitos practice the following:

  • Use insect repellent with active ingredients such as: DEET (N, N-diethyl-m-toluamide), permethrin, picaridin (KBR 3023), IR3535 or oil of lemon eucalyptus [p-methane 3, 8-diol (PMD)] according to the instructions on the product label.
  • Wear long sleeves and clothing to cover any exposed skin
  • Be aware of peak mosquito hours (dawn-dusk)
  • Drain standing water at home
  • Ensure screens on windows and doors are tight-fitting and do not have any tears
