Join the Westminster Fire Department

Anyone interested in joining the Westminster Fire Department should contact the Chief of the Department during the daytime hours to schedule a visit and discuss the requirements.

All applicants will be required to:

  • Be a Westminster resident
  • Be a non-smoker
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Have a clean driving record     
  • Fill out an application
  • Consent to a background check
  • Pass a state required physical including a drug test
  • Pass a Physical Abilities Test
  • Pass a First Responder course (CPR, Fist Aid, and other medical skills)
  • Pass a Firefighter training course
  • Meet the commitment to the department as a call firefighter
