Public Police Log Disclaimer

In accordance with Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 41, Section 98F, the Westminster Police Department maintains a daily police log that records, in chronological order, all valid complaints received, crimes reported, arrests made, and the related charges. This log is a public record and is available for inspection during regular business hours and at other reasonable times.

Certain information is withheld from the public version of the log as required by law. These entries are maintained in a separate, non-public log. Under M.G.L. c.41, §98F, the Westminster Police Department does not release:

Entries involving a handicapped individual who is physically or mentally incapacitated to the degree that they are confined to a wheelchair, bedridden, or require the use of a mobility device.

Information related to reports of domestic violence, rape, or sexual assault.

Entries concerning the arrest of a person for assault, assault and battery, or violation of a protective order when the victim is a family or household member, as defined in M.G.L. c.209A, §1.

Entries concerning the arrest of a person under the age of 18.

These limitations are in place to protect the privacy and safety of those involved and to ensure compliance with Massachusetts public records law.
